Iowa State Patrol reports that a truck driver stopped Sunday may have been under the influence of narcotics when he allegedly began attacking officers, according to KCRG TV.

The driver, who was not identified, was stopped after reports he was driving erratically, KCRG reports, and when troopers pulled him over at the 267 milemarker of Interstate 80, he became combative.

Two troopers and a Cedar County deputy, using no weapons, needed 13 minutes to bring the man under control, read the TV station's online account, and then the man became "unreponsive."

The driver was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and evidence was collected from his truck, ISP reportedly told KCRG.
