Letter: Another vote for assisted living in WB
Op-Ed · August 28, 2014

I am writing to express frustration that all efforts are going forward to build the big sports complex and community center.

Please know that I love sports and realize the benefits for the youth, but we need to understand the needs of the senior citizens, also.

All the neighboring towns have assisted living facilities as a plan to care for their own. By the way, it’s “seniors” who made these towns what they are today.

Would it be possible to incorporate a facility such as this in the Pedersen Valley complex? It would be near Crestview Nursing and Rehab (wonderful care) which was a vision Dr. Stuelke (as well as the Cookson sisters) had when they built these facilities to care for our own.

Many of us may be forced to leave our home town, where our daily lives would be easier with a little help when needed.

Please, talk to the mayor, council members, write a letter. Let your thoughts be known.

Sincerely,

Laurale Hunter, West Branch
