Smithsonian, Hoover L-M offer ‘Museum Day’
News · September 18, 2014

Smithsonian magazine's 10th annual Museum Day Live! and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum will offer free admission to the Hoover museum on Sept. 27 as part of a nationwide event.

The magazine is trying to encourage museum attendance with the annual event. Visitors can download two tickets per household at Smithsonian.com/museumday/venues.

“Not many museums can offer free admission," museum spokesperson Janlyn Slach said. "We like having the opportunity to partner with the Smithsonian Museum Day Live program to offer free admission for this one day."

Last year’s event drew over 400,000 participants, and this year’s event expects record-high participation.

Visitors to the Hoover Museum will be able to see the story of the life and times of Herbert Hoover plus the widely acclaimed exhibit “America’s First Ladies.” This temporary exhibit has items from each of the women who have served as First Lady of the United States.
