Jose Enrique Crespo, 76, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral were held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at the Independent Pentecostal Christian Church in West Liberty. Visitation was Tuesday with services following at the church. Jose was born Dec. 11, 1938, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico the son of Ulpinano and Jovita Rodriguez Crespo. On May 21, 1966, he was united in marriage to Barbara Jaskiewicz in Chicago, Ill. They lived in Chicago for many years before moving to West Liberty.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Iowa City; four children: Charlene (Allan) Horch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Nora (John) Tietje of West Liberty, Jenette Crespo of Cedar Rapids and Rafael (Lesly) Crespo of Coralville, Iowa; sisters: Maria, Margarita, Lenchi, Juanita, Blanca, Ceci and Fran; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
