A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Maurice Dean “Red” Eggers of Midway, Ark., was held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church with Rev. Donnie Hudson officiating.

Red died Jan. 6, 2015, at Mountain Home, Ark. He was 79 years old.

Red was born Nov. 21, 1935, at Iowa City, Iowa, to Everett and Iva Lunette Laferty Eggers. He married Kay Maree Camp on Aug. 3, 1957; the two lived in West Branch and then West Liberty from 1970 to the late 1980s.

Red served his country as a member of U.S. Air Force Reserve. He moved to Arkansas in 1995, and was an avid golfer and bowler. Red was a volunteer at Baxter Regional Memorial Hospital and a member of the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church.

Red is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; three sons, Dean Eggers of Johnston, Iowa, Donald Eggers of Kremmling, Colo., and Douglas Eggers of Omaha, Neb.; daughter Mary Kay Eggers-McCarroll of Des Moines, Iowa; brothers Roger Eggers of Bull Shoals, Ark., and Jay Eggers of Los Angeles, Calif.; and three grandchildren: Alecia, Jacob and Isabelle.

His parents, three sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
