Robert J. Eagle, 53, of Iowa City, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at his home.
A funeral service was Monday, May 4, 2015, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Visitation was Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in rural Nichols. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Robert Eagle Memorial Fund for his children’s education.
Robert was born on Sept. 1, 1961, in Solon, Iowa, the son of Robert F. and Joy (Coon) Eagle. He graduated from Solon High School in 1980. Robert was united in marriage to Amy O’Neil on Dec. 19, 1987. Robert enjoyed horses and showing cattle in 4-H with his children. He enjoyed sports and was the coach for his children’s teams. Robert enjoyed spending time with his children and being involved in their extracurricular activities.
Robert is survived by his wife Amy; four children: Brady Eagle of Scottsdale, Ariz., Zack Eagle of Shattuck, Okla., Kirby Eagle of Cedar Falls, and Trey Eagle at home; his mother, Joy Brumley of North Liberty; five sisters: Deborah (Kevin) Grahm of Marion, Iowa, Sharon Eagle of Boulder, Colo., Catherine (Bill) Brendel of San Antonio, Texas, Joan (Kevin Manternach) Osterkamp of Cascade, Iowa, and Nicole (Jeff) Gunhus of Annapolis, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Eagle; grandparents; one infant brother; and two infant sisters.
