Letter: Vilsack’s OK of Clinton galls this supporter
Op-Ed · September 03, 2015

With news of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack early endorsing Hillary Clinton, he looks out for his future and not ours.
This is the kind of provocative insider politics that angers the American people in disgust of public-servants that consider themselves masters entitled to tell us what we are to do that feathers their nests and might leave some droppings plopping down on us.

Vilsack’s pronouncement is particularly galling to a member of a Democratic Party that put him forth as a worthy public servant for Iowans.

But now for his own future political good, he handpicks one that will be beholding to him in the same-O politics that turns the American Dream into a nightmare for many, but a wonderful reality for an insider-connected few. And though we may be suspicious of why Chuck Grassley declined to endorse in his party, his standing on the sideline awaiting his party member’s judgment is on the surface the right thing to do.

Political corruption by self-service over public-service is why Trump attracts the lion’s share of followers that believe in the power of wealth and inevitability of greed, and why independent Bernie Sanders is across the board standing within burgeoning crowds of independent voters, progressive Republicans RINOed unwelcome in their own party, liberal Democrats, young first-time voters, and people even so disgusted with the insider mess that they have before declined to participle. People are standing with Sanders for a better future for themselves and their posterity. Get lost, Vilsack.
