Letter: Don’t condemn entire religion based on a few
Op-Ed · November 19, 2015

“Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and not do what I tell you?” Luke 6:46 In such haste to condemn an entire religion based on the actions of a few members, let Christians remember to fashion their responses to evil according to the words of Christ.

God grant us courage in our faith, to love our enemies, to pray for them and to respond to others as we would have them respond to us. Let us welcome our neighbors in their time of need.

Help us hand over our fears to Christ, and remember that the mercy we extend to others is the mercy that we will receive from you.

Mercy starts by separating in our hearts and minds, this small group of terrorists from Islam and our Muslim neighbors in general.

Help us to remember that we ask You to forgive our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and to rise above desires for violent retribution.
