Aleta J. Roby, 50, of West Branch, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at her home.

Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center, located within Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sycamore Baptist Church. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Aleta’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is taking care of Aleta’s family.

Aleta Jean Hilburn was born on April 21, 1965, in Atlanta, Ga., the daughter of Andy and Eileen (Arreguin) Hilburn. She had been united in marriage to William Pedersen and later divorced. Aleta had been employed as a bus supervisor for the Quad City School System and enjoyed walking and spoiling her grandchildren.

Aleta will be deeply missed by her children, Lisa Lowe of Rockport, Texas, Salen Navarro of Hempsted, Texas, Leann Hilburn of Muscatine, Jack Hilburn of Milan, Ill., Jessica Thompson and husband Troy of West Branch, and Troy Stogsdill of Coal Valley, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; mother Eileen Arreguin of San Antonio, Texas; father Andy Hilburn of San Antonio, Texas; three siblings, Tanner Whitehead of Cannon City, Texas, Paul Hilburn of Broken Bow, Neb., and Minnie Whitehead of San Antonio, Texas.

Aleta was preceded in death by grandmother Aleta Lowe; brother David Hilburn and nephew Andrew Hilburn.
