Dorothy “Dot” Walker, 89, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016, at Crestview Specialty Care and Rehab Center in West Branch.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. The Henderson- Barker Funeral Home in West Branch was in charge of arrangements. Dorothy was born Nov. 21, 1926, in West Branch, the daughter of Clair and Laura Randall Lehman. Following the death of her father, Clair, Laura married James Butler and together they raised Dot. She attended West Branch High School. On May 17, 1947, she was united in marriage to Jim Walker in Cedar Rapids. Dorothy had worked for many years at Coffee Town and Cookie Jar restaurants, and later as a CNA at the Crestview Care Center until her retirement.

She was a member of the Springdale United Methodist Church. Dorothy and Jim enjoyed dancing and danced with the Tipton Twirlers square dancers for 15 years. She especially enjoyed following all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by one daughter, Trudi (Bruce) Wright of Atalissa; two sons: Dennis (Kathy) Walker of Eminence, Mo., and Jim G. (Kathy) Walker of Somerset, Wis.; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, son Joe, grandson Danny, and a great-granddaughter Diana.
