Barbara Jean (Peters) Bothell, 93, of West Liberty passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Private family graveside services will be held Friday, April 8, 2016, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Barbara was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Iowa City the daughter of Richard and Grace (Hollingsworth) Peters. She was a graduate of West Liberty High School in the Class of 1941 and later attended A.I.B in Davenport. On Jan. 25, 1942, she was united in marriage to Floyd Bothell in West Liberty. She and Floyd farmed in the West Liberty area for many years.

During high school Barb had worked at the A&W root beer stand in West Liberty as a rollerskating waitress. She had also worked at The Judy Shop in Iowa City, Mercy Hospital Gift Shop and as a seasonal worker for ACT. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and belonged to a Bridge Club.

Survivors include four children: Susan (George Kondora) Anderson of North Liberty, John (Shirley) Bothell of West Liberty, Linda (Bob) Foor of Muscatine and Lori Lux of Iowa City; eight grandchildren: Brian, Brad, Brianne, Anthony, Jonathan, Joe, Jon and Dan; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Donna (Ron) Teefy of Marietta, Ga.; and brother Kenneth Peters of Las Vegas, Nev.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, son Denny, great-grandson Luke Thompson, and brother Robert Peters.
