Leonard L. Lenz, 88, of West Branch and formerly of West Liberty died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral service were Monday, June 6, 2016, at Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home. Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Leonard was born Oct. 19, 1927, in Muscatine County, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Linnie Feldman Lenz. On Aug. 16, 1953, he was united in marriage to Darlene Telsrow at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Davenport. Leonard and Darlene farmed for many years in Muscatine County.
He was a past 4-H leader and a member of a Camping Club. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and his grandchildren. Leonard and Darlene spent 19 winters in Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene, of West Branch; three children: Jean (Brian) Brockert of Muscatine, Joan (Bruce) Grady of Muscatine and Bryan (Jean) Lenz of Riverside; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his faithful companion, Abby; and several siblings.
