Sally A. Miller, 78, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation was Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Sally was born Aug. 4, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Eunice (Teft) Kennedy. She was a graduate of Davenport Central High School and attended Bethel College in St. Paul, Minn., later graduating from Mary Crest in Davenport. On Oct. 4, 1963, she was united in marriage to Harold E. Miller in Davenport.

She was employed as a social worker at the Crippled Children’s Foundation. Sally was a member of Springdale United Methodist Church, Springdale Self Culture Club and the Cedar County Republicans. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting baby caps for newborn babies at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, reading and sharing a cup of coffee with friends.

Survivors include three sons: Tim (Michele) Miller of New Liberty, Tom (Darci) Miller of Tipton and Pete (Natalie) Miller of North Branch, Minn.; grandchildren: Ellie, Annie, Alden, Alex, Abby, Ben and Carissa Miller, Bobby (Jessica) Bowman, Kristin (Ryan) Veach and Alex (Ashley) Bowman; great-grandchildren: Luke, Vivian and Jude Veach, Declan Bowman and Maci Bowman; five siblings: Lois (John) Robyt, Dan (Carol) Kennedy, Janice (John) Craig, Constance (Glen) Tilman and Jay Kennedy. Sally is also survived by a special friend, Don Turner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Harold in 1988 and a sister Helen Blanchard.
