Mary L. Hanft, 95, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Pioneer Village in Lone Tree.
Funeral mass was Wednesday Jan. 11, 2017, at St. Mary’s Church in Nichols with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nichols. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Nichols, the daughter of Ben and Hazel Mills Oostendorp. On June 12, 1948, she was married at the St. Mary’s Rectory in Nichols to Richard Hanft. Mary had been employed at Oral B in Iowa City for 22 years.
She was a member of Church of St. Marys in Nichols and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include two nieces: Deborah and Teresa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard; and three brothers: Charles, Veryl and Robert.
