On March 15 a 2006 Chevrolet Impala that rolled into a gore — the grassy area between a ramp and highway — at 9:30 a.m. near Garfield Avenue/X40 and Interstate 80.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report, Jeremy Michael Morgan, 21, of Iowa City was merging with the westbound lane.

“Driver was lost, angry and following GPS when he rapidly accelerated on the on-ramp,” lost control, went off the left side of the ramp and rolled over, read the report.

Morgan reportedly climbed out of the car on his own and complained of pain, but declined treatment by West Liberty Ambulance.

He was transported by his mother to get medical attention for “minor scrapes,” read the ISP report.

ISP estimates $8,000 in damage to the car, effectively totaling the vehicle. Morgan was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

West Branch Fire Department and Cedar County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Knoche also responded to the crash.
