300th Street bridge reopens
News · April 27, 2017

A bridge project on 300th Street south of town wrapped up early on Friday, according to the Cedar County engineer’s office.

South of Interstate 80 and west of Baker Avenue/X30, the bridge on 300th Street closed Feb. 27 to replace a bridge with a reinforced box culvert, a project expected to take about 12 weeks, depending on the weather.

Iowa Bridge and Culvert bid $117,000 to build the culvert and the Cedar County Secondary Road Department did the earth-moving work in-house.

By finishing Friday, the work took seven weeks and four days, finishing about four-and-a-half weeks ahead of schedule.
