Jerry and Tammy Sexton posted on Facebook the news that they officially completed the purchase of the West Branch golf course.

“It’s official!” reads the May 19 posting on the Cedars Edge Golf Course page. “As of today we own the golf course. We would like to thank all of you that have stood by us waiting for this to happen. Time for big changes to take place.”

The posting includes a picture of the warranty deed signed by Derrick Miller, who with mother Pamella Miller co-owned the company under the name Bogey Creek Inc., and the course under the name Fox Run Golf Course.

The warranty deed was signed in Johnson County, though the property resides in Cedar County. The Sextons list the name of the parent company Cedars Edge Properties LLC.

“It’s been a year,” Jerry Sexton said Monday, referring to when the couple signed a contract with the Millers to manage the course.

That contract ended Oct. 30, but the Sextons and Millers reached a purchase agreement March 29 and Cedars Edge reopened in early April.

“It’s good to get it signed,” Jerry said. “It’s taken a year to get to this point. It’s been a long haul. I’m glad we were able to make it happen.”
