by Norv and Mary Coblentz · Sports · June 01, 2017

The West Branch baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader to Durant at West Branch May 25.

“We played a lot better the second game,” West Branch Head Coach Rich Stout said. “It’s a learning curve. We have a lot of sophomores and freshmen, and at the plate, we need to be more aggressive.

“I thought the second game we did a lot better at that. In the second game, Trey Eagle came in and did a super job (batting). We’re going to make some errors...

“We saw Wilton’s best pitching (May 22), then we saw Durant’s best pitching. We’re going to come back. We’ll have a good team by the end of the year. These guys have a bright future. A lot of these guys have three or four years left. They need to keep their heads up. They’re going to be just fine.”
