Speaking Volumes: Building a better world by reading
Op-Ed · June 08, 2017

Summer is here and so is the West Branch Public Library Summer Library Program!

This year’s theme is Build a Better World and we’ll be exploring many different ways to do that.

We’ll, of course, have some programs about building, but also some about nature, some about science, and some about improving ourselves to make the world around us better.

This year, we have special events including interactive science with Absolute Science, author and illustrator Tim Read, building teams with the ISU Extension, and the spherical/floating/soapy entertainment and inspiration from Bubble Wonders.

As always, there is something to do at the library almost daily with special events on Tuesdays, Snack & Stories on Wednesday at 1:30, Thursday Theater every week at 1:30, preschool storytime every Friday at 10 am, and the WBPL Teen program (those entering grade 6 and up) every Wednesday at 10:30am.

For full details online, visit wbpl.org/srp. There are reading/learning incentives available for people of all ages, so visit us at the library to sign up to learn for prizes!
