Tax credit deadline on July 1

The Cedar County Assessor’s Office announced that the annual July 1 deadline for commonly used property tax credits and exemption is approaching.
The homestead tax credit, the military exemption, the disabled veteran homestead tax credit and the business property tax credit all have an annual deadline of July 1. Any recent transfers in ownership or changes in property title (usually from buying or selling a property) may require signing up for one or more of these credits and/or exemption.
Applications can be found online at www.cedarcounty.org under ‘County Forms’ or at cedar.iowaassessors.com/ under the icon ‘Forms.’
Applications can be accepted and/or postmarked by July 3rd this year as July 1st does fall on a Saturday, read a press release.
