Larry L. Staley, 80, of Nichols, Iowa, passed away on June 16, 2017, at his home, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Larry was born March 16, 1937, to James E. and Ethylnn R. (Lynnville) Staley in Muscatine, IA.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Hawaii, following the Korean War.

Larry married Jeanne Elizabeth Anderson on January 16, 1970, in West Liberty, IA.

Larry retired in 2013. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his cats. Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them.

A Celebration of Life memorial gathering and luncheon will be held on July 15, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Nichols, Iowa. Larry is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Jeanne of Nichols, Iowa; his children: Jim (Shelley) Staley, Mark Staley, Larry (Laura) Staley all of Omaha, Neb.; Barb (Jeff) Hylland of North Carolina; Pam Christie, Kelly (Tony) Loving of Nichols, Iowa, and Keri (Shane) Blake of Nichols, Iowa; as well as numerous grand-, great- and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James Staley and Ethylnn “Beanie” Bierman.
