Letter: Bond vote gets City Council’s endorsement
Op-Ed · August 31, 2017

We are writing in wholehearted support of the West Branch Community School District bond referendum, and urge community members to vote “yes” on the measure at the polls Sept. 12th.

As members of the City Council, we regularly discuss strategies to help grow our community in a positive direction. This includes park enhancement, improvements to our roads and streets, and developing a strong community character in collaboration with our partners. Investing in our schools is another critical piece of the strategy.

The School Board has sought community and council input on the bond referendum and we believe they have done the right research to ensure the money will be well-spent on critical improvements that will enhance the schools for all students.

We have seen our local businesses make critical investments in our community.

And now, the citizens of West Branch must work together for our students. Ultimately, this bond referendum is our best chance to invest in our kids, and the future of West Branch.

Sincerely,

Jordan Ellyson, Colton Miller, Brian Pierce, Tim Shields, Mary Beth Stevenson

Members, West Branch City Council
