Minecraft and museums on Sept. 23
News · September 21, 2017

The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum will open its doors free of charge on Saturday as part of Smithsonian magazine’s thirteenth annual Museum Day Live!, an initiative in which participating museums across the United States emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based facilities, which offer free admission every day, and open their doors for free to those who download a Museum Day Live! ticket.

The ticket is available for download at Smithsonian.com/museumday. Visitors who present the ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues on Saturday. One ticket per email address is permitted. For more information about Museum Day Live! 2017 and a full list of participating museums and cultural institutions, please visit Smithsonian.com/museumday.

As part of the Smithsonian Museum day live! the Hoover Museum will have a creative play area for children (age 6 and up) and young teens from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. There will be Minecraft in Oculus Rift VR, Minecraft Education Edition on PC, and Minecraft-themed arts and crafts for children to explore.

“Minecraft is an open-world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is your imagination.”
