CORALVILLE – Six gymnasts earned spots on USA Gymnastics National Teams, according to the Iowa Gym-Nest.

All of these athletes train at Iowa Gym-Nest in Coralville and Iowa City. Two have ties to West Branch.

Four of these athletes are part of the Talent Opportunity Program, also known as TOPs, which is a program used to seek out talent at an early age and help guide the coaches through the USA Gymnastics athlete pipeline to become Hopes and elite gymnasts.

The scores of Lyla Brewer, 7, of Iowa City, and Greta Krob, 7, of West Branch, at Regional Testing qualified them to be a part of the TOPs National Diamond Team. They are in the top 50 7-year-olds in the country.

Ly Bui, 9, of Swisher, and Ciarra Miller, 10, of Kalona, qualified to National TOPs testing by finishing in the top 100 for their age group at Regional testing.

Both girls earned a spot on the TOPs National A Team based on their performance at National TOPs Testing.

Only 45 8-10-year-olds qualify to this team.

Nora Brewer, 9, of Iowa City, is part of the National Developmental Invite team.

She was selected for this team after the National TOPs testing in 2016 by National Team Coordinator Valeri Luikin.

Adeline Kenlin is a Junior International Elite on the USA Gymnastics National Team.

The former West Branch High School student earned her spot by finishing fourth all-around in the junior division at the National Championships.

Kenlin finished first on the balance beam at the U.S. Classics.

She has competed outside of the country representing the United States and helping them to a first-place finish in Jesolo, Italy.

Iowa Gym-Nest is the only gym in the region at this time to have this number of girls on USA Gymnastics National Teams.

Owner of Iowa Gym-nest, Paige Roth, said, “We are extremely proud of all the hard work our girls have put in and are very excited for their successes. We are eager to see where their journey takes them.”

Kenlin and coach Mary Wise are currently training at the National Team Training Center in Texas, under the direction of Valeri Luikin and the National Staff.

Brewer, Bui, and Miller will all attend training camps at the NTTC this month with coach Paige Roth.
