No threat at WBHS
News · December 07, 2017

KWWL.com posted a story Nov. 30 with the headline “West Branch police offer extra patrols after school threat,” however, it appears the threat happened in West Liberty.

West Branch Police Chief Mike Horihan said he had not heard of any threats expressed at West Branch schools when contacted by the Times. Horihan then called back, saying he spoke to WBHS Principal Shannon Bucknell, who told him he was unaware of any threats but had heard of such an incident at West Liberty schools. The KWWL.com story starts with a West Branch dateline, but further down the story abbreviates the police department as “WLPD.” The West Liberty Police Department on Nov. 30 posted a message to Facebook about an alleged threat at the West Liberty High School.
