8th girls win four straight

West Branch Middle School’s eighth-grade girls basketball team won four games against Mid-Prairie and Tipton.
“The eighth-grade girls had another good week finishing 4-0,” Coach Rich Stout said. “We played really well in both games against Mid-Prairie as both A and B teams scored a lot of points. Against Tipton we did not shoot as well, but played well defensively.”

Against Mid-Prairie, the A team won 47-20.

Scoring: Laikyn Worrell 13, Lexi Klinkhammer 12, Delaynie Luneckas 20, Hilda Hernandez 2

The team shot 4-5 from the free-throw line, had 34 rebounds, 6 blocks, 11 steals, 11 assists and 14 turnovers.

In the B game, the Bears won 25-10.

Scoring: Andee Atkins 2, Annie Bower 6, Grace Mundell 4, Madison Hovancik 9, Addie Wehde 4.

The team shot 1-8 at the free-throw line, had 31 rebounds, 12 steals, 4 assists and 10 turnovers.

Against Tipton, the A team won 32-15.

Scoring: Laikyn Worrell 9, Andee Atkins 2, Lexi Klinkhammer 8, Delaynie Luneckas 13

The team shot 6-11 from the free-throw line, had 23 rebounds, 2 blocks, 18 steals, 5 assists and 13 turnovers.

In the B game, the Bears won 10-2.

Scoring: Andee Atkins 2, Grace Mundell 2, Madison Hovancik 2, Addie Wehde 4.

The team shot 0-3 from the free-throw line, had 12 rebounds, 11 steals and 11 turnovers.
