Carol Elaine Nighbert Small, 73, formerly of West Branch, died Dec. 7, 2017.
A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Muscatine with Pastor Bruce Ursin officiating.
Carol was born July 18, 1943, daughter of Earl and Clara Dauber Nighbert. Carol graduated from West Branch High School. Carol worked several years at Owen’s Brush in Iowa City, then became a business owner. Carol was united in marriage to William Small on Sept. 2, 1977. Carol and Bill enjoyed many years living in Arkansas.
Carol is survived by her husband, Bill Small of Muscatine; children Matthew (Mary Anne) Alberhasky of Muscatine, Robert Alberhasky (Cheryl) of Lone Tree, Jeri (Tom) Freeman of California, Scott Small of Iowa City, Paul (Barbara) Alberhasky of Cedar Rapids, Doug (Guyia) Small of Iowa City, and Toby Billick of Tipton; sister Marilyn (Larry) Sexton of Downey; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen Sissel and Nadien Pfister; and brother DeWayne Nighbert.
