Children dressed like folks in the 1920s, 1940s, 1960s, 1980s, and more for the Hoover Elementary third- and fourth-grade concert, Jukebox Time Machine, which performed April 23 at West Branch Performing Arts Center. Music teacher Allison Haack said the pupils practiced for a couple of months on songs like, “It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got that Swing” by Duke Ellington, “Blue Suede Shoes” by Carl Lee Perkins and Elvis Presley, “Living on a Prayer” by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Simmons, and other songs. Parents provided costumes for many of the singers, and the stage included a jukebox for decoration. The audience even got to sing along to parts of “Living on a Prayer” by using lyrics provided in the program.
