7th football beats West Liberty, 44-0

West Branch Middle School’s seventh-grade football team defated West Liberty, 44-0, on Sept. 5.
Thomas Pedersen got things started with a 22-yard touchdown run to put the Bears ahead, 6-0. The two-point conversion attempt failed.

Teddy Bucknell then intercepted a pass and ran it back 10 yards for the second six-pointer of the night. Bucknell then ran in a two-point conversion, putting West Branch up 14-0.

On a roll, Bucknell then scored a safety, putting up his ninth and 10th points of the night while giving the Bears a 16-0 lead. Bucknell added to the team’s points with a 28-yard touchdown run. Clayton Shultz added a two-point conversion for a 24-0 lead.

Casen Regennitter ran 17 yards for a touchdown and Shulz threw to Evan Farmer for a two-point conversion. The Bears now led 32-0.

Evan Farmer broke away for a 66-yard touchdown to give West Branch a 38-0 lead. The conversion attempt fell short.

Bookending the Bears’ scoring, Pedersen took a kickoff and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown and a 44-0 lead. The conversion attempt failed.
