Letter: Food pantry replenished, however ...
Op-Ed · October 30, 2024

Scouting for Food was a great success! Thank you to everyone who contributed food to our local food pantry.
With the help of the local Boy Scout troop and the Lions, food was collected, sorted and stored in our local food pantry on Oct. 19.

The pantry is located at 225 North Maple Street, just east of West Branch Community Day Care, in the old middle school. Hours of operation are every Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., except the third Tuesday, which is HACAP mobile food pantry day.

If you have donations of food or hygiene products you want to give to the Pantry on days we are not open, please bring the donations to Bethany Lutheran Church. Church members bring the donations to the Pantry regularly.

An important change is happening to the location of the HACAP food truck. Every third Tuesday the West Branch Fire Department has allowed us to use their parking lot for food distribution. Their newest fire truck has made it impossible to continue using that space. So we are relocating our third Tuesday distribution location.

Beginning in November the mobile food pantry truck will be located at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church parking lot. The address is 507 E. Orange Street. The time will remain the same, 3:30 to 4:30.

We hope folks will find us at the new location, and continue to participate in this vital service. We thank the fire department for their years of hospitality. Our sign on their property will redirect neighbors to our new location.

Thank you to all who shared and will continue to share from your generous hearts to meet your neighbor’s needs.

With warm thanks,

Barb Wilcox
