Betty Marie Ingwersen Naeve Slach, 95, of West Branch passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at Cedar Manor in Tipton.
Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Bethany Lutheran Church in West Branch. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.
Betty was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Cecilia (Nissen) Ingwersen. She was united in marriage to D.P. Naeve Jr. in 1951; he passed away in 1959. They were the parents of Susan (Naeve) Papke and Mark Naeve. She later married Kenneth Slach in 1974 and he passed away in 2005.
She was a longtime, active member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children: Susan Papke of Sun City, Ariz., Mark Naeve of Broomfield, Colo., as well as Kenny’s children: Carol Belding of Coralville, Jane Slach of Oxford, Raymond (Nancy) Slach of West Branch, and Anita Slach of North Liberty. She is also survived by grandchildren Leland Belding III, Stephanie (Sid) Tison, Angela (John) Platt, Raejean (Chad) Chapman, Matthew (Katie) Papke, Jennifer (Todd) Walker, Tom (Nicole) Papke, Alan Papke, Megan (Shaheed) Al-Mabuk, Emily (Nick) Snider and Natalie (Greg) Hays; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Jean Lauritzen; and sister in law Patsy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands D.P. Naeve Jr. and Kenneth Slach; brother Glen Ingwersen; sons-in-law Rand Papke, Leland Belding Jr., and Mike Hill; and Kenny’s daughter, Marcia Sorensen.
