Paul ‘Moose’ Braddock, 65, Bettendorf Obituaries · January 15, 2025
Paul “Moose” Braddock, 65, of Bettendorf, died peacefully, Jan. 3, 2025, at the Clarrisa C. Cook Hospice House surrounded by his family.
A memorial visitation took place on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Keeping with Paul’s wishes, cremation rites have taken place and burial will take place at a later date in St. Bridget’s Cemetery in West Branch, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Friends of St. Bridget’s or for an educational fund for his grandchildren.
Paul Edwin Braddock was born on Oct. 17, 1959, in Davenport, a son of Marion E. and Marie A. (Donohoe) Braddock. He graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1978 and attended Scott Community College to learn the welding trade.
Paul worked for General Electric as a welder before joining the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1991, working at Lock and Dam 14 until he retired in 2021.
Paul was united in marriage to Ellen M. (Manley) on March 3, 2023, in Las Vegas.
Paul enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially while hunting, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling and competing in motocross and softball. He also was an exceptional cook, everyone enjoyed his soups. Paul cherished his grandsons and wouldn’t miss their activities. He was a great NASCAR fan and most recently rooted for “the Polack” Brad Keselowski.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Ellen, of Bettendorf; children: Morgan (Pat) Cullen, LeClaire and Nolan Braddock of Orlando; stepson Korey Gibbs of Burlington; grandsons Blake and Tyler Cullen; step-grandchildren Julie, Karson, and Kaitlyn; siblings Bill (Sharon) Braddock of Solon, and Ron (Robin) Braddock of Tipton; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Brenda Braddock, and several dear friends.
