8th boys win two against Comets

West Branch Middle School’s eighth-grade boys’ basketball team defeated West Liberty in two games on Feb. 10.
In the A game, the Bears defeated the Comets, 37-23.
Scoring: Kael Sexton 8, Brooks Seydel 10, Ty Staker 2, Peter Koenig 15, Garrison Gross 2.
The team shot 0 for 1 from the free-throw line and had 18 rebounds, 13 assists, 14 steals, 2 blocked shots, and 9 turnovers.
The win gave the A team a 2-4 record.
In the B game, West Branch beat West Liberty, 30-11.
Scoring: Korbin Poe 2, Aiden Bodenstadt 8, Ty Staker 4, Brayden Benskin 2, Charlie Krall 2, Landon Shimon 2, Daiveon Kriegel 10.
The team shot 0 for 0 from the free-throw line and had 31 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 1 blocked shot and five turnovers.
The win improves the B team record to 3-2.
