Herbert “Pete” Hoover III, 82, California

Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; adventurer, benefactor and mentor to countless others, “Pete” Hoover died peacefully with his family by his side.

Pete was a man who truly believed in living life to its fullest. He was blessed to have his beloved wife, Meredith by his side for 61 years of traveling as well as hours of volunteer service together with The American Red Cross.

A man of great intelligence and wisdom, he was involved with many organizations as a consulting director.

He was a man whose presence could engage an entire audience or relate to individuals on a one-to-one basis.

He will be deeply missed and will always be remembered by his wife Meredith; son Stephen Hoover; daughter Leslie (Todd) Hoover-Lauble; grandchildren Jennifer (Benjamin) Mosebach, Stephen H. Marsh and Hagen D. Lauble; great-grandson Jackson B. Mosebach; and so many others whose lives he touched during his life.

A memorial service is planned for the future.

He was a grandson of President Herbert Hoover.
