Speaking Volumes: Blinded me with science! Summer reading
by Nick Shimmin, WB Public Library · Op-Ed · June 05, 2014

The Summer Reading Program is here! This year, the West Branch Public Library will be having a lot of different programs and events while encouraging you all to read and learn.
This year’s themes are all about Science: “Fizz, Boom, Read!” for the kids; “Spark a Reaction” for the teens; and “Literary Elements” for the Adults.

The big kickoff for the programs will be on Saturday, June 7th, at 8 p.m. with an outdoor movie at the library with, as always, free popcorn and sno-cones (ask us at the library what the movie is since we can’t write it here)!

We have programs this year from favorite presenters from the Blank Park Zoo and Cedar County Conservation and fun new programs including a bubble artist, storm chasers, and a Harry Potter-themed potions class.

Check online at www.wbpl.org/srp for all the details on the different programs and come in to the library to sign up.

We hope to see you all this summer reading, learning, and winning prizes at the library.
