Nordex, Acciona merger complete

Acciona Windpower fully merged with Nordex last week, according to WindPowerMonthly.com.


Acciona Windpower North America, which is headquartered in West Branch, is part of the acquisition.

Acciona Group, the parent company of Acciona Windpower, gets 29.9 percent ownership in Nordex in the deal in addition to $626 million. The total deal is worth nearly $894 million.

Top Acciona Windpower executives have taken positions in Nordex.

The deal was originally announced in October.

WindPowerMonthly.com reports the new company holds 18 gigawatts of installed capacity around the world. Two wind turbines are in Mechanicsville and, combined, produce up to 3 MW.
