7th football beats Tipton, 38-14

West Branch Middle School’s seventh-grade football team on Sept. 10 defeated Tipton, 38-14.
The win puts the Bears at 2-0 on the season.

Thomas Pedersen got the scoring going with a 22-yard run, followed by a two-point conversion pass from Teddy Bucknell to Casen Regennitter.

With the game tied, 8-8, the Bears let Bucknell run it in from three yards away for the second touchdown. This time, Pedersen threw a pass to Jasper Alvarez for the conversion.

Now ahead 16-8, Pedersen this time ran 23 yards for the six-pointer. West Branch went for two again, this time with Clayton Shultz connecting with Cole Schneider to give the home team a 24-8 lead.

Schultz tossed up the next touchdown, this time to Schneider to give the Bears a 30-8 lead. The two-point conversion failed, but the West Branch team had a comfortable three-possession lead.

Tipton managed to cut that to a two-possession lead, 30-14, but the Bears would answer one more time. Shultz lofted a 40-yard pass to Bucknell for the fifth touchdown of the night, then Shultz ran it in for two more points and a 38-14 final score.
