8th Bears fall to Tipton in opener

The West Branch Middle School eighth-grade boys basketball team lost its two opening games of the season, including a one-point thriller against the Tipton Tigers on Jan. 16.
In the A game, Tipton got the W with a 49-29 final over West Branch.
Scoring: Kael Sexton 7, Brooks Seydel 4, Peter Koenig 16, Garrison Gross 2.
The Bears made one of six free-throw attempts and had 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 9 steals and 8 turnovers.
In the B game, West Branch got edged out, 21-20.
Scoring: Korbin Poe 4, Ty Staker 2, Aiden Bodenstadt 2, Brayden Benskin 5, Charlie Krall 2, Landon Shimon 2, Daiveon Kriegel 3.
West Branch made one of six free-throw attempts and had 24 rebounds, 3 assists, 11 steals, and 3 turnovers.
