Letter: Misplaced fears of war refugees out of Syria

It was good to read the article on refugees by Keegan Sotelo in the Dec. 15 issue of the Bear.
His emphasis along with the comments of teachers Gill and McCarthy were very compassionate toward the war refugees in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
It is difficult to watch the daily news from Syria and know so many countries are turning their backs on these people out of misplaced fears.
