Girls’ bowling falls in 3 contests

Iowa City High School’s girls varsity bowling team lost to three opponents in recent action.


Against Iowa City West High on Jan. 27, the Little Hawks lost 2,488 to 1,785.

West Branch’s Tara Hoffman bowled 126-152 278 and Kasey Wieland bowled 107-157 264.

The team’s baker scores were 113, 111, 113, 105, 94.

Hosting Washington on Feb. 3 at Colonial Bowling Lanes, the girls lost 1,967 to 1,818.

Hoffman led the team with 145-111 256 and Wieland finished second with 123-131 254.

The team’s baker scores were 137, 121, 126, 154, 126.

On Feb. 10, the Little Hawks traveled to Maple Lanes in Waterloo to face Cedar Falls, losing 2,773 to 2,087.

Wieland bowled 138-137 275 and Hoffman bowled 100-139 239.

The team baker scores were 132, 106, 155, 142, 132.
