Letter: Some benefits of single-payer health system

Are we about image or results?
There are many good results from joining together in a single-payer national health system.
Would businesses need our current workcomp system if all the medical bills were paid by the larger pool?
Would our country’s productivity rise, if small health issues were not put off until they became disabilities? How would providing better mental health care, earlier, affect our law enforcement and judicial costs?
Health and wellbeing are not commodities nor competitions, but a vital part of a jobs-based economy infrastructure. Can we afford to place more importance on the image of “not being labeled socialists”?
